Make It Your Way: I Like to Move It, Move It!

Hi Everyone! Theresa here again with another fun idea for getting more out of your templates! For the longest time, I stayed away from templates, determined to make my layouts unique and one-of-a-kind! Templates have become a new love of mine, because I can use them as a starting point and end up in an entirely different place with my page!

I took today's them from watching the new Madagascar movie's previews: "I Like to Move It, Move It." because I can not see that movie without thinking of that song! Who says a template's layers are "set in stone"? I took a template with 2 separate photos/clusters and totally rearranged it to make 1 center cluster with 2 photos! I simply selected all the layers in one cluster and moved it until it was where I wanted (and even flipped it around!), and what I ended up with, was something that looks entirely different from the original template, but I still saved loads of time by starting off with it!

Gallery Standout!

Happy Monday!
LaShawn here for another week's post of LBSD Gallery Standout. Yay!!

Everyone has the chance to be spotlighted on the blog. Not only that, but there might be free stuff involved for you. Who doesn't like that?!? All you have to do, is scrap, upload, get loved, and you might just get picked.
Erika's gallery is full of beautiful layouts. Having great templates will do that! It was really hard to pick out just one layout to show. However, I managed to do it.
Here is this week's layout:

Lovable
by March 76

I REALLY like how she took this template and flipped it. It is so cool seeing people take templates and make them their own. To use them as the creative bases that they are meant for. I also really like the use of pattern paper and the clustering. Of course, you cannot discount that infectious smile! :D Just makes me smile looking at it!
Make sure you click the link above and go leave her some much deserved love. March 76, make sure you leave a comment here with your email so that we can get you your prize. :D

If you would like to be the next GSO pick here is how you have your chance. Scrap with LBSD template, you know you love to, and show it off in the gallery. Make sure you put it in LBSD gallery. We will be leaving love and pickin out one stand out a week. Not only will you be featured on the blog! You will win you choice of on product from LBSD brownie shop. So get to a "little bit" of scrapping and show it off.

That is all for me today.
Happy Scrapping!

June Challenge - Flip It

Hi all, Shauna here, and today I’m going to give you a challenge. If you complete the challenge your name will go into a drawing for a prize from Erika’s shop. The challenge this month is called “Flip It”. It is very simple, just get a template from Little Bit Shoppe Designs (and she even has a freebie on Facebook), and then flip it before you use it. You can flip it left, right, horizontal, vertical or 180 degrees. The great thing about flipping templates is it lets you get more uses out of one.

I used Oh My Stars and flipped it left for my layout. Here is the preview of the template.

And then here is what I did with it.

To be entered into the challenge, get your template, flip it, finish your layout and post it to Little Bit Shoppe Design’s Gallery at Brownie Scraps.com. Then come back to this post and copy the link to your page. I will announce the winner when I post next month’s challenge on July 11th. I can’t wait to see what ya’ll create.

Make It Your Way: Flip It Around!

Hi Everyone! Theresa here again with another tip for making templates work for you! This week, I wanted to show you how easy it is to give a template a new and refresh viewpoint by FLIPPING and/or ROTATING it!
I used a template from Annabelle, and although I love it as is, I wanted my layout to be orientated a little differently, with the strip on the left and photo on the right. So I rotated the entire template 90 degrees counter-clockwise, and then flipped it horizontally to get the placement I wanted!

I {he♥rt} Color: Little Miss Shabby Color Palette

image credit ♥ {Little Miss Shabby}

I had run across this particular photo on pinterest and immediately fell in love.  I HAD to find the owner to such a colorful photo.  That's when I was led to Little Miss Shabbys website. Here you can find beautiful quilts and quilting patterns. Thanks for this weeks color inspiration!

We too have been inspired from such amazing sites as www.design-seeds.com and Photo Card Boutique. We hope to continue the love of color by supplying additional color palettes with you and hope you enjoy looking at  them just as much as we enjoy creating them.  We'd LOVE to see how you use them :)

You can post Little Bit's color palettes on your own blogs, but you need to give attribution to Little Bit Shoppe Designs and supply a link to the original blog post. Please do not modify the image or color  palettes.  All images need to stay exactly as they were originally posted.
We like to give proper credit to the photographer or website of the images used along with a link when possible. If you are a photographer and you'd like to see what colors we can pull from your photographs, please feel free to send them our way.

Fun Free Fonts

Hi all, Shauna here, I'm one of Erika's CT members and once a month I'm going to show you one of my favorite free fonts. I’m a font-a-holic, but I refuse to give up the habit. I love all kinds. But ones I use all the time are handwriting fonts and one of my favorites is Pea Nicki by Kevin and Amanda. You can download it by clicking HERE or by clicking on the preview of the font below.

And to see how I use it, here is a layout I made with Erika's Which Way Templates.

I would love to see layouts you do with this font, so feel free to comment with a link to your layout using Pea Nicki.
