What warms the little bellies of my children on a chilly day like today?
OATMEAL of course!
Make a big pot of oatmeal (we're NOT talking instant here). The good old hardy stuff that Grandma told you would "Stick To Your Ribs" kind!
Set out various ingredients and let the children add the toppings into their oatmeal as desired.
We used:
Blueberries (frozen or fresh)
Diced Peaches (can use canned)
Canned Pumpkin (along with pumpkin pie spice to the side)
Chopped up bananas
Canned Apple Pie Filling
Vanilla Sugar
Cinnamon & Sugar
Brown Sugar
Cream
Milk
Yum!!

I love this idea! We eat oatmeal nearly every morning (at the request of my 3-year-old). I am always looking for new ways to dress it up.
